Welcome to Stan Jam! The official Home page of Stan Loh.

Hey…I can’t make up my mind. Sometimes I call myself “Stanley”

Those who know me may already know that I “dip my fingers in many pies”. My critics say that I would become master of none. Well, they may have a point…but I certainly am going to try prove them wrong!

There is a business part of me. Then there is also the play part. In both business and play, I go at them pretty hard. You see, I am the type of person who loves to win…in anything I do.

Right at the moment I wake up, I already know what I want to do or achieve that day. I hate to waste time. I am extremely fortunate to have an understanding family, warmed by my lovely wife and confidant, Mabel. I am father of two very intelligent and talented sons – Keith and Kevin. Kevin is the one who has designed Stan Jam.

I’ve called this page “Stan Jam” for two reasons:

One, I have a jam of business activities. Next I also have a jam of “play” activities.

Stan in Colombo

There was a bomb here yesterday mornng...the Tamils put a Claymore on a motor bike, left it by the roadside, and when an army bus passed, they remotely detonated it. The bus driver was killed, and 5 others injured. Now this is plain stupid because this guy was innocent, now his family suffers cause his $100 per month income ceases! Baby is hungry!

Why can't they all share in the wealth of Sri Lanka? This country can be as prosperous as Singapore! They have more land, and are closer to a larger market...India!!! Heck, just planting more tea and betel nut leaves and selling to India would make them all very rich!!!

This is damn nice country here...everyone smiles at you when you pass them by on the beach (and very nice beaches too! A bit dirty...lots of garbage thrown by irresponsible (may unrefined, untaught) people. But the beaches are very nice...I walk it every morning and evening. You see, I love in an apartment hotel about 50 yards away. There's a railway line between the hotel and the beach...got used to the train noises...they don't run at night.

Anyway I am getting settled down, and getting used to the surroundings. Bought a fish yesterday...about three palms big...paid 300 rupees...that's $3.00. Taste damn good...been eating it for the past 2 dinners...I still have half in the freezer!

Hope you enjoyed my first blog!
